I often hear folks express some form of the following: “part of me says this but another part wants that.” This internal tension can lead to feelings of confusion, loneliness, overwhelming worry, and shame. If it feels like emotions are inhibiting your best self, therapy can help you to feel better and exist in the world with confidence and clarity.
Through establishing insight into the interconnected nature of emotion, physiology, and culture I can help you reconcile competing narratives concerned with how you "should" be in the world. My goal is to be present, open, and connected with you to facilitate a space for developing a compassionate relationship with yourself. My framework to therapy emphasizes Internal Family Systems and Narrative Therapy approaches. During session we will utilize mindfulness, creativity and self compassion to delve beneath the symptoms and unburden defensive beliefs rooted in anxiety and loneliness.
For anyone looking to move from a place of frustration, despair or worry to one of hope, empowerment and harmony, I’d love to hear more about your story and support your journey!
