I enjoy building a meaningful relationship with each of my clients through hearing them tell their own stories. I use many approaches to therapy to find what best supports each client, including person-centered, relational, narrative therapy, and emotion focused therapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, work stressors, relationship stressors, family concerns, body image, building boundaries, exploring gender or sexuality, burnout, grief, life transitions and building self-compassion. I use a trauma-informed, queer affirmative, sex positive and fat positive lens, being cognizant of the structural and systemic challenges faced by socio-politically disadvantaged minority groups.
I enjoy working with clients who are 16 years or older, either individually or in couples. I have worked with clients from various ethnicities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, races, body sizes, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. I help create a collaborative environment for the client to explore how various norms in our society impact their experiences and relationships and help form their current perspective, perception, and ways of coping. My goal is to help you build self-awareness and understand their ways of functioning without invoking shame, it becomes easier for them to work towards being patient and self-compassionate, learn and incorporate healthier coping mechanisms, feel empowered to support themselves and meet their own needs.
