Seeking out therapy can be an intimidating process for many reasons. My goal is to help take those fears away and provide a comfortable environment right from the start. I have been a social worker for almost 25 years with experience in different settings such as foster care, hospitals and schools. For the past 22 years, I have been a high school social worker with a primary focus on adolescents, emerging adults and family systems. My goal is to create a trusting relationship that allows clients to open up and begin to move toward the change they are seeking. The center of my work with others is to find solutions, build confidence and offer support navigating through challenging times. I use positivity, gentle humor and encouragement to help provide the strength needed to make healthy changes. My therapeutic approach always starts with providing a safe, non-judgemental space to listen so I can help process emotions and thoughts. I am person centered and will work in partnership with you to determine the next steps. I have experience addressing issues in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, complex family systems, school struggles and goal setting. My core belief is that having a genuine, caring relationship with others is what creates the healing needed and the courage to move forward.
I have a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from North Park University. I have been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) since 2006.
